SPSS Modeler Scores Big with Netezza
A large table with 102 million rows containing Telco data was loaded into Netezza TwinFin 12 and Exadata Quarter Rack. The data was then directly scored in the respective databases using ten models built with SPSS Modeler. The SQL expression for scoring was generated by SPSS Modeler and pushed into the database using SQL Pushback. Not only did Netezza load the data 12 times faster than Exadata, it scored the data 20x faster. What took a couple of hours to load and run in Netezza, took several days to tune for Exadata to get optimal performance!
